Rising Stars in Dental Research: The University of Jordan Hosts the Hatton Award IADR–Jordanian Section Competition

The School of Dentistry at the University of Jordan proudly hosted the Hatton Award IADR–Jordanian Section Nomination Competition on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

The Hatton Award is one of the most prestigious honors granted by the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). Each year, it celebrates outstanding young researchers who are shaping the future of dental science with innovation, dedication, and excellence.
This year’s event brought together some of the brightest emerging talents in Jordan’s dental research community. After a series of exceptional presentations, Dr. Eman Hassouneh, a 2024 graduate of the School of Dentistry at the University of Jordan, was announced as the winner. Dr. Hassouneh will proudly represent the IADR–Jordanian Section at the global Hatton Award Competition in San Diego, March 2026.

As part of the award, Dr. Hassouneh will receive complimentary registration, accommodation, and a travel stipend to attend the international conference—an incredible opportunity to showcase Jordanian excellence on a world stage.

The local competition saw impressive research presentations from all participants, each demonstrating remarkable scientific insight and innovation. The judging panel—comprising senior academics from both the University of Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology—praised the high standard of work and the passion displayed by all contestants.

Events like this highlight the University of Jordan’s commitment to advancing dental research and empowering the next generation of scientists to make a global impact.
