As part of their ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services and provide them free of charge to those in need, Zain Jordan and the University of Jordan, in collaboration with the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), announced the renewal of their cooperation agreement. This agreement includes the provision of joint health services through various programs and initiatives.
Under the agreement, Zain will continue its collaboration with the University of Jordan through the participation of the Zain Mobile Free Clinic in free medical campaigns and days organized by the university. These efforts target university students, as well as the elderly, through organized visits to nursing homes where comprehensive healthcare and dental services are provided.
The renewal of this agreement reflects the ongoing collaboration between the two parties. A number of initiatives, free medical days, and field visits have been conducted, benefiting hundreds of patients. These included free medical checkups and healthcare services for University of Jordan students, conducted through the Zain Mobile Free Clinic located on campus, in cooperation with the university's School of Dentistry. A total of 196 male and female students from various faculties were examined and treated. The campaign also included awareness sessions, free dental checkups, fillings, root canal treatments, gum treatments, and fixed prosthodontics.
Field visits were also organized to the Wadi Al-Shita Elderly Care Center, with a total of six visits carried out. During these visits, healthcare and dental services were provided to the center's residents with the participation of postgraduate students in prosthodontics. Residents were examined in the Zain Mobile Free Clinic and received treatments including non-surgical extractions, tartar removal, teeth cleaning, and the preparation of some patients for the fitting of full dentures.
Zain Jordan stated that the renewal of this cooperation with the University of Jordan falls within its ongoing initiatives and contributions to the healthcare sector in the Kingdom, which it prioritizes as one of the key areas covered in its sustainable programs and initiatives. This step also reflects the company’s continued commitment to the local community and its dedication to leveraging its resources to enhance healthcare services and ensure their accessibility to those in need across the Kingdom. The company expressed pride in this collaboration, which extends its solid relationship with the University of Jordan ("The Mother of Universities") across various fields and through which it will continue to serve more people in need of healthcare throughout the Kingdom.
It is worth noting that more than 260,000 people have benefited so far from the services of the Zain Mobile Free Clinic. This initiative is part of Zain's community involvement in the health sector. It was launched in 2002 to support the local community, enhance and facilitate access to healthcare services, and continue the company’s role in promoting health awareness among citizens. This aligns with the third Sustainable Development Goal (Good Health and Well-being), which the company integrates into all of its sustainability management programs.
The clinic, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and local community institutions, provides top-quality, free, comprehensive healthcare services. These include screening for communicable and infectious diseases, managing chronic illnesses, dental care, and monitoring child health. The clinic is fully equipped and operated by a qualified medical team consisting of a pediatrician and a dentist. Comprehensive medical exams include clinical evaluations, oral and dental health checks, and the free dispensing of necessary medications and treatments. Chronic medical cases that require more specialized care are referred to appropriate professionals within the public healthcare sector to ensure the continuation of treatment.
