On February 20, 2025, the School of Dentistry proudly hosted the DSRS—Dental Students Research Society—Research Proposals Competition, an event that provided students with a platform to present their own research proposals. The students showcased their innovative ideas in front of a distinguished panel of faculty members: Dr. Aseel Sharaireh, Dr. Mohammad Rababa’a, Prof. Suzan Hattar, Prof. Suha Abu-Ghazaleh, and Dr. Nour Ismael, in addition to Honorary Professor Faleh Tamimi from the University of Qatar. The event was also honored by the presence of esteemed guests, including the Faculty of Dentistry Dean, Prof. Ziad Al-Bitar, Dr. Ahmad Abdel-Salam, and Prof. Yazan Hassona.
A total of 31 research proposals were presented, covering a diverse range of topics in dentistry. Each proposal reflected the students' passion, innovative thinking, and dedication to writing well-structured research proposals.
At the end of the event, the jury announced the top three winners, recognizing their outstanding research proposals. However, all submitted proposals will be allocated to faculty supervisors, allowing students to further develop them into full research papers under expert guidance.
The success of this event is a testament to the enthusiasm and hard work of our students, whose commitment to research has been truly inspiring. The DSRS Research Proposals Competition demonstrated that dental students have the potential and capability to embark on their own research journeys. Supporting students remains a top priority for the Faculty of Dentistry, and we take immense pride in their achievements. We hope they will become future contributors to the field of dental research.
