The Continuous Dental Education Committee at the School of dentistry / University of Jordan held a scientific meeting on Saturday, January 11th 2025, in the field of oral health and medicine, titled "Clinical Updates in Oral Medicine", with the participation of a number of experienced doctors and specialists from the University of Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology.
The event aimed to inform dentists about the latest findings and updates in scientific research regarding oral and dental medicine.
According to the event coordinator, Dr. Yazan Hasoona, organizing this series of scientific activities reflects the commitment of the School of Dentistry to contributing to the development of human resources in the field of oral and dental health. It also seeks to build bridges of communication between specialists and practitioners, enhancing their scientific and practical expertise, which ultimately benefits the quality of healthcare provided to patients.
The first event targeted local dentists, faculty members, residents in higher specialization programs, and master's students across all specializations at the School of Dentistry. It included discussions on topics such as medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, diagnosing and managing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome, and presenting various clinical cases. These cases were prepared by oral medicine residents at the University of Jordan Hospital and the Oral Medicine Department at Queen Mary University of London. At the end of the event, the best clinical case was selected, and a prize sponsored by Albadehi Dental Materials Company was awarded.
The event was attended by Dr. Fatima Al-Naimat from the School of Medicine, Dr. Yazan Hasoona, Dr. Dina Taimeh from the School of Dentistry at the University of Jordan, and Dr. Jumana Karasneh from the School of Dentistry at the Jordan University of Science and Technology.
