The Continuous Dental Educational Committee lecture by Professor Mombelli

The continuous dental educational committee hosted Professor Mombelli, Emeritus Professor of periodontology at the University of Geneva on Thursday 24 of June. This came as part of JU school of dentistry endeavors to provide its staff and students with opportunities to meet top notch scientists from all over the world.

Professor Mombelli was professor and director of the Division of Periodontology at the Clinic of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva, Switzerland (1999-2019). He is former president of the Swiss Society of Periodontology (1992-1996 and 2004-2008).He and his colleagues have been pioneers in studies on the diagnosis, etiology and therapy of peri-implantitis. He has conducted multiple clinical trials evaluating antimicrobial protocols to optimize the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases.  In 2019 he received the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Research in Periodontal Disease and in 2020 the Distinguished Scientist Award of the EFP.

“Microbes and periodontal disease at the age of genomics"

This event was attend by a wide spectrum of dentists from all sectors of dental practices in Jordan, faculty members, post graduate resident and interns.

At the end of meeting Dr Ahmad Hamdan, Vice Dean for hospital affairs and Dr Mohammad AL-Rabab'ah, head of CME committee at school thanked Professor Momeblli for his informative lecture.
