The Advisory Council of the School of Dentistry at the University of Jordan held its regular meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2026, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Zaid Bakri Al-Bitar.
The meeting was attended by the following Advisory Council members:
President of the Jordanian Dentists Association, Professor Dr. Aya Al-Asmar
Director of Dentistry at the Royal Medical Services, Brigadier General Dr. Mohammad Al-Khawaldeh
Director of the Directorate of Dentistry at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Zakaria Al-Bdour
Dr. Lara Buqaeen and Dr. Sami Al-Qadi (representing the private sector)
Professor Dr. Suha Abu Ghazaleh and Dr. Ahmad Abdulsalam (faculty members)
Student Saeed Yaseen (representative of the Faculty’s students)
The meeting focused on discussing several strategic priorities aimed at enhancing the quality of the educational and training processes at the Faculty, and elevating graduates’ competencies to meet the highest local and international standards. Key discussion points included:
Developing and updating academic curricula in line with the latest scientific advancements in dentistry.
Strengthening specialized and high-quality programs that the Faculty plans to introduce in the coming phase.
Supporting students academically and clinically to ensure the graduation of distinguished professionals capable of competing in the labor market.
Enhancing partnerships between the Faculty and both the public and private sectors to exchange expertise and advance clinical training.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Zaid Al-Bitar, emphasized the importance of these periodic meetings in guiding the Faculty’s progress toward excellence and leadership in dentistry at both the national and regional levels.
The School of Dentistry at the University of Jordan reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to developing its academic and research programs and strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders in service of the community and the advancement of the profession.
