The School of Dentistry held the first scientific event of the student initiative MEDISTRY, which aims to promote the concept of Interprofessional Education (IPE), with wide participation from students of the School of Medicine and the Schoo of Dentistry.
The event included a discussion on the impact of autoimmune diseases on oral health and how to provide comprehensive, integrated care for patients with autoimmune conditions. Various medical cases were presented, highlighting the importance of coordination among all medical and dental specialties to deliver best medical practices and to strengthen the concept of integrated health and patient-centered care.
The event was attended by Dr. Fatima Al-Naimat from the School of Medicine, Dr. Shaimaa Nabhan, and Professor Dr. Yazan Hassouna from the School of Dentistry, in addition to a number of graduates from the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry.
