The School of Dentistry at the University of Jordan held a distinguished academic event titled “Research Day Away”, with the participation of six honorary professors from renowned international universities and academic institutions. The event is part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific research and promote global academic engagement.

The scientific day was inaugurated by the Dean, Professor Zaid Al-Bitar, who delivered a welcoming speech highlighting the importance of the event as a platform for knowledge exchange and boosting research productivity.

rofessor Mohammad Al-Shayyab, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, also gave a speech emphasizing the need to support postgraduate students in their research journeys.
The event featured a series of short lectures presented by four of the honorary professors, addressing current topics in dentistry and scientific research. The sessions were attended by faculty members and postgraduate students.
In the second part of the day, the School of Dentistry organized a collaborative workshop to discuss the main challenges facing scientific research at the university in general, and in the Faculty of Dentistry in particular. Participants were divided into four roundtable groups that brought together the honorary professors and faculty members, aiming to develop a practical action plan and recommendations through productive brainstorming sessions.
The workshop resulted in several key recommendations, including:
Increasing the involvement of postgraduate and undergraduate students in research projects
Focusing on research topics that serve both the local and international communities
Developing effective strategies to secure financial support for research from diverse sources
To conclude the event, the Dean, along with the honorary professors and several faculty members, visited the new training building of the Faculty of Dentistry. The guests reviewed the progress of construction and praised the infrastructure development that supports both research and training.
This event reflects the faculty’s vision to enhance international partnerships and advance its research environment in alignment with global standards.
